During Women's History Month (March 1-31), Swenson House is featuring an exhibit highlighting influential women of Abilene. We will be honoring women from education (Allie Ward), music (Martha Pender), medicine (Virginia Connally), public office (Mary Houston Morrow--Sam Houston's daughter and post mistress of Abilene in 1910), and several others with period clothing displays, relevant books, photographs, paintings, and other physical items related to these women and/or their area of expertise.
